Programs holding CERT Basic Courses around the Bay Area:
San Mateo Consolidated (Belmont, Foster City, San Mateo) – starting an in-person CERT Course on September 8th. Thursday mornings session for businesses (Gilead and VISA employees), and Thursday evening session for the community. Joint Skills Day for both sessions on November 5th.
San Ramon – weeknight Hybrid course on Tuesdays and Thursdays in September with Skills Days on October 8th and 9th
Palo Alto – Starting on September 6th, two nights a week for 3 weeks, followed by a Skills Day.
Oakland – Skills Day will be at the end of August
San Jose – just completed one course, and is just starting a new one. Offering them as Hybrid courses, in various languages.
Redwood City / San Carlos – CERT Academy as Hybrid starting on September 8th with a Skills Day on October 15th.
Gilroy – August 30th through September 24th on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Central County Fire - Hillsborough has a Neighborfest coming up. Burlingame has it’s annual Disaster Drill on October 10th. Along with a CERT Boot Camp – a refresher for CERTs – on November 12th and 13th.
Southcoast – is offering Hybrid CERT coming up. Listos will be done with students. They also just completed an Emergency Preparedness Day in which 24 local organizations participated (including CERT), and about 100 very engaged residents attended.
Santa Clara County is planning to hold a refresher for their CERTs – focused on Medical, SAR, Incident Command System, and Radio Communications. Looking for a venue.
Marin – holding a Hybrid course now, but looking for ideas for keeping people engaged online. Skills Day is scheduled for September 10th.
In June they held a Refresher CERT Rodeo – essentially a SAR Treasure Hunt with Radio communications. Lasted about 2 hours, and had about 20 CERT participants.
